JoJo Siwa opens up about being part of LGBTQ community: 'I am just so happy'

Online superstar JoJo Siwa has officially come out as a member of the LGBTQ community.

Siwa, 17, opened up in an Instagram livestream over the weekend about being "just so happy" after she received an outpouring of support for two posts she made earlier last week that seemed to indicate she had reach out.

"Someone asked, 'How prolonged have you been a part of the community? How long have you been whatever you are?' I don't know," Siwa said. "I think my whole life, because my whole life I have really really been just – I like people. But I never had fallen in love before, but I always believed my person was going to be my person. If that person happened to be a boy, then fantastic. If that person happened to be a young woman, great."

She added: "I'm the happiest that I've ever been, and that's what matters."

Siwa posted a video earlier this week on TikTok of her mouthing the lyrics to "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga, typically known as a LGBTQ anthem.

JoJo Siwa is opening up about coming out as a member of the LGBTQ community.

The online superstar, 17, who came out in January, discussed her sexuality in a People interview published Wednesday. Siwa said she usually refers to herself as "gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool," but added that she would also recognize as pansexual.

"I like queer," Siwa said. "Technically I would say that I am pansexual because that's how I have always been my whole life... my human is my human."

A pansexual is a person who is attracted to all gender identities, or attracted to people regardless of gender, according to GLAAD President & CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis.

The YouTube star also talked about her relationship with girlfriend, Kylie Prew, whom she went public with on social media in February.

JoJo Siwais happy to recognize herself better.

Though the “Karma” singer used to self-identify as a lesbian since coming out in 2021, she discovered through her modern romance with Big Brother UK castmate Chris Hughesthat she now aligns with a different letter of the LGBTQIA+ alphabet.

“I think the most beautiful designation now is queer,” JoJo exclusively told E! News’ Francesca Amiker. “I reflect queer is an umbrella of, ‘Look, I'm just me.’ And I consider the most pretty thing about the LGBTQIA community is love is devote. And that goes both ways.”

She added, “There's loads of beautiful, different sexualities. Sexuality and queerness is a pleasant rainbow that has all different places, and it also has places on this rainbow that we don't even know exist yet.”

And for any critics out there, JoJo—whose relationship with Australian influencer Kath Ebbsended at the Big Brother UK afterparty in April—feels the same as she did when she came out at 17: She doesn’t have to elaborate herself.

“I feel so in the right position for myself. I
