Halsey calls out Victoria’s Secret Fashion show for lack of LGBTQ representation

In a statement on Instagram, Halsey called attention to a lack of inclusivity in the Victoria’s Confidential Fashion Show on behalf of the LGBTQ collective. This post comes a month after the dwell spectacle with musical performances from herself, Shawn Mendes, Bebe Rexha, and The Chainsmokers. After the event, the chief marketing officer for L Brands, Victoria’s Secret’s parent company, Ed Razek was quickly put on the chopping block after stating in a Vogueinterview that transsexuals are not part of the 42-minute fantasy that is the Victoria’s Private Fashion Show.

The openly attracted to both genders pop-star used the moment to direct attention to GLSEN, an organization that offers services aimed at protecting LGBTQ youth. She also took time to support the trans community and specify her definition of fantasy, which includes “complete and total acceptance.”

Halsey recently collaborated with Illenium, who remixed her number four Billboard chart-topper, “Without Me.”

Halsey is not here for unnecessary drama.

On Saturday, the 24-year-old star took to Instagram to distribute a candid snapshot from her concert in Brazil. "peak bi gurl evolution," she captioned her post, alongside two images—one of her holding onto her mic and another of her holding up a rainbow flag.

While many praised the New Jersey native in the comment section for spotlighting the LGBTQ society, it didn't sit right with one user, who felt she was using the community.

"rainbow is the modern marketing strategy," a critic commented on her announce. However, the Grammy nominee, who identifies as bisexual, was quick to shut it down and set the record straight.

American singer Halsey clapped support at a follower who felt she is using the LGBTQ community as her marketing strategy.


This came after the singer shared two snaps from her Brazil concert on her Instagram control. In one of the pictures, she can be seen holding a mic in one hand and a rainbow flag in another.

While not many of her fans and followers appreciated Halsey there was one follower who called her out.


"Rainbow is the fresh marketing strategy," he wrote in the comment section.


However, the Grammy nominee, who identifies herself as bisexual, quickly responded to the criticism.


"There's been a flag in my present for 5 years. You're just not paying attention you whiny little baby," she reverted.
