lgbtq last of us 2

After the revelation of Ellie's kiss in Left Behind, the downloadable expansion to The Last of Us, I decided two things. One, that I was sufficiently over organism terrified of the game the first time to present it another travel, and two, that I was curious whether or not the game would feel different knowing that Ellie was gay.

When I first reviewed The Last of Us one of the things that I most applauded the game for was the character of Bill. Bill was Joel's smuggling contact, a paranoid loner that lived in the overrun and extremely booby-trapped town of Lincoln. Joel and Ellie meet up with Bill hoping to cash in some favors and get a automobile to head west in.

Bill is also gay, something that you don't understand until you enter across the body of his ex-lover Frank. Frank had grown tired of Bill's small-mindedness and set-in-his-ways attitude, and had attempted to steal the wagon battery Bill was going to provide to Joel. In the process he was bitten, infected, and hanged himself after leaving a very rude message for Bill to find.

What makes Bill and this chapter of the game so awesome is the fact that for the first time I can ever remember a major character in a Triple A game was lesbian a

The Last Of Us Season Two Needs To Craft One Simple Improvement To The Game's Best Scene

The Last of Us Part 2 is a very queer game. The main protagonist is a queer woman who spends most of the game protecting her pregnant bisexual girlfriend from danger, while the second protagonist ends up as the found family of a trans boy cast out by his religious society.

This Time, Can We Not Discuss All The Differences Between The Last Of Us Game And TV Show Please?

The Last of Us is mainly discussed by gaming fans analysing similarities, and that's no way to watch television.

The reveal is keeping this strength thus far. Ellie and Dina are still canonically and explicitly in a relationship, shown kissing in the recent premiere. And, just like in the game, one of the older members of the Jackson community shouts a homophobic slur at them, causing Joel to strike him. It sets up an interesting world, but the game fumbles this world building. I'm hoping the show doesn't execute the same.

The Last of Us: Every LGBT+ Traits in the Franchise

Despite the fact that things are adv changing for the better in concrete life for Homosexual people, it is still a drawn-out way to proceed before a proper representation of these themes is brought more often on the big screen and in video games. Suffice it to say that when The Last of Us Part 2 was released last year, it was the very first blockbuster game to ever movie a lesbian lady as its protagonist, and while that's a great achievement it also means that more should be done in the industry to shake things up. However, The Last of Us Part 2 didn't simply stop at Ellie's sexual orientation, and it also featured a bisexual/pansexual ethics and young transsexual man. This post contains spoilers for The Last of Us series

LGBTQ+ themes are not something entirely new to The Last of Us franchise, as the first installment of the series also showcased a queer NPC and then a very flowing lesbian kiss in the Left Behind DLC. The entire project is also delivered by several queer Naughty Puppy employees, and some of the characters are portrayed by LGBTQ+ individuals, which makes it even more wholesome and meaningful.
