WDW June 2025 Gay Days general Discussion Thread...
Gay Days are traditionally built around the first Saturday in June. This year it is June 7, and following the normal schedule the designated parks are:
Thursday June 5, Animal Kingdom
Friday June 6, Disney Studios
Saturday Jine 7, Magic Kingdom
Sunday June 8, EPCOT
The parks are open to the general public, it is not a confidential ticket event, unlike at Disneyland.
While there are some private events, and one promoter is actually scheduling a week earlier than usual this year, including a private ticket party at
Typhoon Lagoon scheduled for May 30.
I'll be traveling with a friend, whose wife hates traveling, so he goes with me often. Also in my party will be his 16 yo grandson. We'll be at WDW June 4 to 11. While we are doing the parks, the only one we're doing on the designated day is Magic Kingdom, it's just the way our schedule worked out. I was also able to book the DVC Moonlight Magic event at Typhoon Lagoon for June 9. I've never been to Typhoon Lagoon, as I'm
Disney's LGBTQ fans agonize about Florida policies even as many consider the park a safe haven
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ anti-LGBTQ policies contain some LGBTQ Disney fans and Disney World employees on edge to notice what the future will be for the Magic Kingdom. Adding to worries is Disney’s legal battle with the state over manipulation of the particular tourism district where the Disney Planet parks reside.
After the 2022 passage of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education statute, known as the “Don’t Say Gay” law among critics, LGBTQ advocacy team Equality Florida issued a travel advisory for the articulate, warning tourists of “hostile” policies. DeSantis considers the advisory a “political stunt,” deputy press secretary Jeremy T. Redfern said.
Disney sued DeSantis this year over the company’s authority of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District where the Disney World parks reside. Florida lawmakers arrange to revoke Disney’s special privileges — such as its exemption from express inspections — through DeSantis’ newly appointed district board of supervisors. The show giant asked the court to overturn state efforts to exert control over Walt Disney World.

LGBTQ people flock to Florida for Disney's Gay Days celebration
ORLANDO, Fla. — Tens of thousands of LGBTQ people are flocking to central Florida this weekend to go on theme park rides, mingle with costumed performers, move at all-night parties and lounge poolside at hotels during Gay Days, a decades-long tradition.
Even though Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida lawmakers have championed a slew of anti-LGBTQ laws — spurring the most prominent gay rights organization in the U.S. and other civil rights organizations to issue warnings the Sunshine Articulate may no longer be safe — Gay Days organizers are still encouraging visitors from around the world to come to one of Florida’s largest gay and lesbian celebrations.
They say a large turnout will send a letter that LGBTQ people are not going away in Florida, which is continually one of the most popular states for tourists to visit. If the hoped-for 150,000 or more visitors come to the half-week of pool parties, drag bingo and thrill rides at Orlando’s theme parks and hotels, then “that’s the point,” said Joseph Clark, CEO of Gay Days Inc.
“Right now is not the hour to run. It’s not the time to travel away,” Clark said. “It’s time to show w
