This two-hour ride on Capital Cruises double decker boat on Lady Bird Lake features performances and sing-a-longs of Holiday favorites with our Kingly Queen, the feisty and fabulous Colleen Deforrester. We'll acquire our resident DJ alongside her mixing holiday beats. Colleen will perform a few numbers on her own and we’ll all attach in with her for other holiday favorites. From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 1.3 miles to Comanche Trail. Turn right on Comanche Trail and commute 2 miles. Park entrance is on your left.
- Crowd:Lots of linear couples and groups inhabit the lower areas. Male lover area is all the way at the far end past where the trail ends. Most cruising takes place on/near trails above the main aisle.
- Directions:From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 1.3 miles to Comanche Trail. Spin right on Comanche Mark and travel 2 miles. Park entrance is on your left.
- Hours:May-Oct Weekday evenings (2-3 hours before closing). Also on weekends.
- Cruising Info/ Tips:Steer clear of area immediately above the same-sex attracted area as it's frequented by police. Best to pick a spot where you can see far and can have period to cover/adjust yourself in case the police exhibit up. NEVER have openly on the trails or you WILL be arrested

Pride Bat Boat Cruise
The Austin Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce is kicking off Pride week initial with a well-stocked bat cruise. Burro Cheese Kitchen is providing the snacks and Deep Eddy Vodka, Mighty Swell and Austin Eastciders are on drinks. A DJ will be on the upper deck, where you can twirl as the bats hover overhead at dusk, but you can always retreat to the air conditioning on the lower deck. The Yeti store is hosting a pre-cruise delighted hour from 4-6pm, but make sure to earn to 220 S Congress by 6:30pm—the boat departs at 7pm. A portion of the event's proceeds will go toward an LGBTQ scholarship fund. BYOB.

11 things I learned on my first gay cruise
You've probably heard of queer cruises and wondered how they differ from "traditional" cruises. Are they unwrap to straight people? Is it all about partying? What about the hook-up element?
I sailed with tour operator Vacaya in February 2023 on a one-week gay cruise retiring from Fort Lauderdale and heading to the Caribbean via Celebrity Cruises' Star Reflection cruise ship. For context, I'm a white, cisgender, gay man in my mid-30s. I had a lot of questions about what to anticipate, given this was my second cruise ever and my first one with a queer tour operator.
Here are the top things I'd want someone considering or planning their first gay cruise to know.
People are friendly
The first thing that struck me about the sailing was that almost everyone was smiling and eager to interact. As an Australian living in the U.S. for almost a decade, I generally locate Americans to be open, talkative and curious. This cruise was like that … on steroids.
I would have establish it overwhelming if I weren't an extrovert, but since I'm a social butterfly, I was in heaven.
